Real name: Joan C. Wasser

Joan As Police Woman band leader, born July 26, 1970 in Norwalk, Connecticut, U.S.A. Wasser is a classically educated violin player, after her studies, she played for the Boston University Symphony Orchestra and became a friend of Jeff Buckley. She founded Joan as a Policewoman, first publishing an EP in 2004.
By an anecdote, the name for her band project is originated, that she looks similar to Angie Dickinson,who played the title role in TV-series Police Woman.
