Umupop was a Dutch reggae/ska-band, founded in 2002 by Micha Baksteen and Herman Habekotté, which released one demo-album (the so-called 'black' one).
After several online auditions a complete band was presented featuring Micha (bass guitar), Herman (lead vocals/trombone), Henry Romkes (keyboards/samples), Jeroen Gulikers (keyboards/accordion/theremin), Judy Hinsch (guitar) and Azaad Bakhtali (drums). Judy was later replaced by Guus Kerpel and Azaad by Olivier Abeln.
The band toured in the Netherlands in 2003 and 2004 and released a demo-single (the so-called 'yellow' one).
Summer 2004 it was decided to change the name of the band into 'AMeHOELA'.
