American vocalist.

Born: Kinston, North Carolina, USA.

Roy was the lead vocalist and a principal songwriter in the group Ecstasy, Passion & Pain. She started with her niece in a singing duo, Barbara And Brenda, then played guitar for Inez and Charlie Foxx (“Mockingbird”) and on various recording sessions in New York until joining Ecstasy, Passion & Pain in 1973.

From 1977 to 1981 Barbara continued with session work. She recorded some solo singles in the mid-1980s, and was in the supergroup Togetherness in 1989. Since then, her vocals have been sampled in various dance tracks.

Aunt to Brenda Gaskins, and Jocelyn Brown.
