UK punk band formed in Basingstoke in 1977 (by Nick Boyle - guitar, Roger Pintches - bass and Rob Donaldson - drums) as The Ejaculators. Became The Urge in 1978 with addition of vocalist Dave Buckland. Other members included Patrick Leagas (later) of Runners from 1984 (RU84). Urge split December 1979. Boyle formed The Terminal Jive Buckland quit music scene and took his life in 1988. Boyle had original seventies Urge recordings issued in 1990 and re-worked more of them for the 1991 album.
