Helen Young

Real name: Helen A. Davies née Young

American singer and entertainer who performed with the orchestras of Johnny Long and Raymond Scott in the 1930s and 1940s.

Young started her career as a singer doing radio shows for national networks in Boston and New York City. In 1937, she joined the Johnny Long Band but left in 1942 when she toured the European Theater for nine months with the United Service Organization. She then sang with the Raymond Scott Orchestra for about a year before again joining the USO for a year's tour of the Pacific Theater.

She married Ogden R. Davies, radio station manager (WKAP) and one-time guitarist in Johnny Long's band.
