Samir Tahar
Samir Tahar (in arabic : سمير الطاهر) was born in Mostaganem in Algeria. From childhood, he enrolled at “Masrah Essaïdia” to learn the technique of classical and Andalusian Arabic singing. He continued his musical studies at the Popular Institute of Arab Music in Oran. At the same time, he recorded his first records at Editions “La Voix du Globe”, at Souleïman. Multi-instrumentalist, Samir Tahar plays the Ney (ancestral reed flute), the Qanoun (Arabic zither) and especially the Oûd, a reference musical instrument played throughout the Maghreb and the Middle East.
