American jazz guitarist, born August 17, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, dies July 30, 1960 in the same city.Married to Vivien Garry. Arv taught himself to play ukulele at age nine, then switched to guitar and was accomplished enough to play dances and local events by age 12. In 1938, he was “discovered” by pianist, Bill Cummerow, and moved to Albany, New York.
