American saxophonist, flautist and clarinetist, producer, composer best known as a Los Angeles session musician (born 24 September 1938 in Los Angeles, California, USA - died 19 April 1993 in Los Angeles, California, USA). Former staff producer for Capitol Records and Mercury Records A&R head on the West Coast. Co-owner of the Pentagram label, Schmitt-Douglas Productions with Al Schmitt and Bobby Applegate and Los Angeles studio Dimension Recorders. Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 (Sidemen). Related to the label Arkay and the publisher Arkay Music.
