Kinney Abair

Real name: Herbert McKinney

Jazz and blues guitarist, singer and actor from Houston, Texas. Abair died on February 15, 2003 at age 64 after suffering a heart attack.
Abair was born in Refugio, Texas. He studied at Berklee College of Music and Texas Southern University. During his career, Abair performed and recorded with artists including Lightnin' Hopkins, Arnett Cobb, Eddy "Cleanhead" Vincent, Bobby "Blue" Bland and John Hammond. He also performed as a duo with harmonica player Sonny Boy Terry.
