Ali Boustan
Born in Tehran in 1969, Boustan started playing the setar at the age of 14 under the supervision of Mohammad Firouzi and studied theories of Iranian Music under Mohammad Reza Lotfi, Parviz Meshkatian and Ahmad Ebadi.
From 1989 he continued his studies of setar with Hossein Alizadeh as well as assisting him in various capacities, including graphic designer for Alizadeh's educational books and albums. He has played setar and oud in some of Alizadeh's albums and live performances.
In 1990 he graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from Azad University in Tehran. Ali, a member of International Advertising Association and a professional graphic designer, has also worked with Hermes on its product covers and advertising campaign. Ali is a member of both Hamavayan Ensemble of Hossein Alizadeh and Nour Ensemble. He has appeared on stage with many musicians, including Jivan Gasparyan, Alain Brunet Jazz Orchestra and Bazar Bla in Tehran.
