Musician Roberto Watts, born in Cieneguita, Limon, Costa Rica, ca. 1940, grew up in Panama City, where he worked with legendary musician Clarence Martin. He lent his remarkable voice to various latin and calypso style ensembles. Recorded most of his own compositions in Panama. Besides he worked as a tailor and barber. Moved to New York, where he also recorded his 1990 hit "Carnaval in Puerto Limon". Later he returned to Costa Rica where he was part of the "Calypso Limon Legends" Project in 2003. The prolific calypsonian died December 15th 2022 in Cieneguita.
