Born 03-03-1947 in Den Haag, Elizabeth van Zyl is best known as Carike Keuzenkamp, a legendary Afrikaans singer and former host of SA's first kiddies TV show, 'Kraaines'. In 1967 she starred in the Jamie Uys' movie 'Die Professor en die Prikkelpop', where she sang her song 'Timothy'. She also appeared in the movies 'You Must Be Joking' in 1986, 'Liefling' in 2010 and 'Pretville' in 2012. She has been active in the South African music industry for some 50 years and is best known for her many albums on which she sings popular music as well as children's and gospel music. At the SA Music Awards 16 (2010), she received a Lifetime Achiever award. She is also patron of Beeld Kinder Fonds; patron for Rapportryer Bible Quiz for Primary Schools and patron of Cantate Chamber Choir.
