Best known for her distinguished career on Broadway. She was born to a theatrical family and came to America in her teens to join her mother, already an actress in the U.S.
She was nominated for a Tony Award in 1967 for 'The Loves of Cass McGuire', and, in 1975, received the Joseph Jefferson Award as Best Actress in a Principal Role for 'The Sea' at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
