Real name: Frederick Charles Tillis

American composer, jazz saxophonist, poet, and music educator at the collegiate level.
Born January 5, 1930 in Galveston, TX – died May 3, 2020 in Amherst, MA.
He played as a soprano, alto and tenor saxophonist; performed music in the jazz and other African American traditions throughout this country and the world and he worked with jazz musicians Max Roach, Billy Taylor, among others.
