Real name: Joan Fuster i Ortells

Joan Fuster (Sueca, Valencia, November 23, 1922 - June 21, 1992) was a Spanish writer, journalist and essayist in Catalan. Played a key role in defining the contemporary Valencian nationalism and, in his most influential essay "Nosaltres, els valencians" (We, the Valencians, 1962), coined the term Països Catalans (Catalan Countries ). His work covers various fields of knowledge including linguistics, history and philosophy. It is considered the most influential twentieth-century Catalan essayist.
