English composer, arranger and conductor whose work first became noticed through the tuneful backings he often supplied to some contract singers on HMV singles in the 1950s. Occasionally he was allowed his own 78s, and some were his own compositions, such as Rhapsody In Red. He also wrote music under the name Frank Meilleur or Meillear.

Music director at His Master's Voice from 1955 until 1962.
