The earliest recordings available are the two tracks released on the local Vancouver radio station CFOX's album Various - Vancouver Seeds 2, after winning their “Battle of the Bands” competition in 1981.
In 1982 they released their debut album Headpins - Turn It Loud.

Released third album Headpins - Head Over Heels in 1985.
Disbanded in 1987.
Darby Mills formed Plain Jane, Darby Mills And The Unsung Heroes as well as having a solo career.
Brian MacLeod later reformed Headpins with original drummer Matt Frennette, soon to be replaced by Bernie Aubin again, and new singer Chrissy Steele.

Sadly, Brian MacLeod was diagnosed with cancer and died before a new album was finished. It was eventually released as Chrissy Steele’s debut album Chrissy Steele - Magnet To Steele in 1991.
