Born 7 January 1931 in Berlin , the german jazz saxophonist and composer Helmut Brandt
studied at the municipal in his hometown of BerlinConservatory.
His career began in the year 1950. A first commitment connected
him with Lubo D'Orio and Kurt Widmann. The decisive year, however, was 1955!
Helmut Brandt put together his own band.
The Helmut Brandt combo stayed together for three years, until the end of the year 1958.
Then He leaves to RIAS Tanzorchester in Berlin.
Helmut Brandt died 26 July 2001 in Stuttgart, Germany.
