The Carnations

Members: George Phelps, Ray Allen (4), Bill Gaunt, Hardy Martin, Diane Patton

US group from Louisville, KY, originally formed by Ray Allen (Bass Guitar), Hardy Martin (Lead Guitar), Vernon Velty (Rhythm Guitar), Duke Marsh (Sax) and Ronnie Lloyd (Drums).
By 1960 the band added a regular vocal group The Tren-Dells and a solo lead singer, Paul Penny, for their live perfomances. In 1961, Hardy and Ray assembled another Carnation's band with a female member, Diane Patton, and recorded several instrumental sides.
