Born January 11, 1939, Louis works mainly as a sound sculptor in concrete situations, having created musical gardens in Osaka, Paris, Hong Kong and Tartu. He has also worked as a composer for film, performance and dance as well as for recorded media. He was director of the sound design department at Ircam and both founder and director of Espaces Nouveaux, Dramatic Art's Center of the Opera de Paris, "Le Monde de la Musique" magazine and Radio Classique. Died January 22, 2021.
