Good Jelly Bess

Effective period / Period of releases: 1962

*possibly Billy Lee Riley. it may be another alias. it may be a group. he may have produced the album. it may have even been unrelated to him, but he didn't want to stop the rumor that it was so he never denied it, while never confirming it.

A contradictory statement was posted on another music website:
"My name is Steve Bess and I recorded as Good Jelly Bess on Hermitage Records.
Bill Justis produced me in Nashville - the writers were both good friends.
It was cut at Monument with Charlie McCoy (harp), Wayne Moss (guitar) & Kenny Buttery (drums).
The record was a two sided hit. Hope this clears up who Good Jelly was."
