Experimental electronic group mixing guitars with synthesizers, effects, loops and samples.
Cabaret du Ciel was founded in 1986 in Treviso, Italy by Luigi Morosin, initially as an ambient solo project. In 1989 Andrea DesiderĂ  joined the project, beginning a new musical approach, more focused on electro-acoustic instrumentation. The first two demos of the duo, "Weather Colours" and "Raintears", were both released in 1991 on Ionisation Tapes.
Around the same time, Cabaret du Ciel started a series of live shows closely related to video art, with music accompanying slideshow made of abstract landscapes mixed with bold and soft colors. It received good reviews in the local press, for both music and visuals. The soundtrack of this concept, "Skies in the Mirror", was released in 1992 on cassette. A clip was made by their close friend Giorgio Ricci, who also participated on the album.

German producer Peter Wustmann became interest in Cabaret du Ciel, and suggested to them they should play a more progressive sound, featuring vocals. In 1993 Silvia Marton joined as the new vocalist, and the project changed to a more rhythmic style, influenced by prog rock and alternative music. "Blue Forms", practically finished in 1994, was supposed to be released by Music Is Intelligence, but due to financial problems of the German company, the second album of Cabaret du Ciel was released only in the year 2000 by Italian label Mellow Records.

In 2018 French label Hybride Sentimento contacted Andrea DesiderĂ  to reissue their debut album. "Skies in the Mirror" was released for the first time on vinyl, gaining international success.
