Risky Business
Real name: Risky Business (Ireland)
An eight-piece from Skerries, Risky Business are a big band with an even bigger sound. Terming their style “Brass Rock”, their music covers a spectrum of sounds from power-pop to funk with occasional shades of country and jazz. Unfinished Business was their debut album. Released in 2018, it was recorded at Westland Studios in Dublin with all songs written and arranged by the band. Risky Business have been honing and perfecting their sound with knockout performances at festivals like Electric Picnic, where they played the Trailer Park stage for four consecutive years, a tour of Ontario in Canada, and gigs in the UK, Spain and Portugal. Unfinished Business features feel-good single ‘Climb All Over You’, along with fellow standouts ‘Just Forget it’ and ‘Last Night’, The band's live performances continue to draw large crowds to a range of different venues. A key attraction of the gigs is the bands 'guest spot' where they invite well known players from different musical backgrounds to join them on stage. Guests to date have included Jim Lockhart, Barry Devlin and Eamon Carr from Horslips, Nick Kelly of The Fat Lady Sings and Alien Envoy, Trad fiddle player Carol Keane and members of the Hot House Big Band.
