Pop vocalist originally from Brooklyn, New York. Born 1933 - Died 1969.
After winning an Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout show she toured with Red Ingle's band. She got her start performing in several NYC nightclubs. She was called the "baby face blues singer" in Billboard Mar 5, 1949 when she was still going by her birth name. In July 1953 she became the first female singer on Steve Allen's late night television show. She sang pop, jazz and rockabilly. Her promising career was interrupted when she temporarily lost her voice in an automobile accident. In 1961 she had another serious accident causing her to go into a coma. Although she recovered, her career was over.
