The Poor is a hard rock band from Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, that was formed in 1986 under the name The Poor Boys (7). In March 1994, the band changed its name to The Poor, to avoid confusion with The Poorboys (2) from Claremont, USA.

With the release of the album WHO CARES in 1994, they toured the US with The Scorpions and with "Honest" James Young's uncles Angus Young and Malcolm Young from AC/DC on their 1996 US tour.
