American guitarist, composer, lyricist, poet, photographer and stand-up comedian, born on August 24 1938, in Abilene, Texas and currently living in Eugene, Oregon (USA). In music he is best known for his 1968 hit instrumental Classical Gas. As a comedian, he is known for his writing for TV's Saturday Night Live, the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. Williams has also published several books.
