Åland musician and composer, born on 12 December 1954 in Jomala, died 11 November 2007.

He lived in Helsinki for more than 30 years and worked as a freelance musician. at TV and the Swedish Theater. Jack Mattsson was a rare talented musician with an extremely sensitive ear, a multi-instrumentalist who began his career in his teens as a drummer, guitarist and bassist. He was a good flutist, could make a living as a pub pianist - and sometimes did - and he had a cantor's degree. In 1974 he came to the Sibelius Academy's church music department where he became my student in organ playing. We eventually became friends and I got to work as a sponsor and controller with the creation of several of his organ compositions.
