American songwriter and record producer.
Among his compositions, he wrote classics like Time Is On My Side (1963, under the pseudonym Norman Meade) and Piece Of My Heart (1967). Founder and original owner of the The Hit Factory complex in 1968, which he sold to Edward Germano in March 1975.
