The Faroe Boys

Effective period / Period of releases: 1964 - 1967

Members: Milson Zachariasen, Jógvan Dahl, Kári Mouritsen, Trygve Restorff I Brekkunum, Robert McBirnie

Rock'n'roll band established on the Faroe Islands in 1961. Released their debut single Heimkoman / Vónsvíkín in 1964 with a lineup consisting of vocalist Robert McBirnie, guitarists Atli Hansen and Bjarni Skaalum, bassist Milson Zachariasen, pianist/accordionist Tummas Nielsen and drummer Trygve Restorff I Brekkunum. In 1965 the group was reorganized with McBirnie and Skaalum as only original members, together with guitarist Jógvan Dahl, bassist Kári Mouritsen and drummer Jógvan Sofus Vágsheyg. Zachariasen performed occasionally with this lineup and produced their 1967 eponymous debut album. The band disbanded the same year. They were reunited on 29 December 1978 for a one-off nostalgia concert in Tórshavn; recordings from that event can be found on the compilations Poppminnir 1 and 2.
