Real name: Salena Godden

Descendant from Jamaican banana plantation owners, Salena Godden is a London-based poet and performer. She's travelled and toured extensively, and her work has been published in numerous underground magazines and broadcast on national radio.

Introduced to Peter Coyte during a recording session with DJ Delruby, their first collaborative release was an album entitled "Egg Yolk Planet Fried" under the name of Salena Saliva and the PC Collective on Saltpetre Records in 1999.
In the same year, they created and produced "Saltpetre Radio", a poetry concept show for CD & radio.

The band now performs and records as SaltPeter, with Salena taking over lead vocalist and lyricist duties.
