Spanish prog rock band in the beginning. Active from 1972 to 2005. Brief active in 2009.
It emerged around 1970 when several friends of Soraluze came together to play: Ramón Aranzasti, Juan Luis Ibarzabal, Iñaki Arriarán, Jose Cambronero, Jose Antonio Ruiz and Ramón Pía. In all these years a lot of people have passed through the group. They proposed translating the fashionable songs into Basque, for many years it has been a classic in parties, squares, festivals and pediments. In later years they hardened their sound in the style of the great rock bands. The group was dissolved in 2004.

Xavier Madina (vocals) replaced by Anje Duhalde (ex Errobi) and later by Jesús "Jexuxmai" Lopetegi (vocals, guitar), Paco Díaz "Pako" (drums), Juan Juaristi "Markox" (bass), Iñigo Moñux (guitar) replaced by Jose Alberto Batíz) and later by "Edu" Cruz Olarzabal), keyboards (?) replaced by Aitor Amezaga (Enbor) and later by Juanma Labandibar.
Between the musicians they emphasize: Markos Juaristi, Xabet Arozena or Iñigo Moñux. Although there have been many musicians who have collaborated with Akelarre.
