Cephas Mashakada

Cephas "Motomuzhinji" Mashakada was a ZImbabwean musician and song-writer.
Born in 1960 in Chitambo, Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. In 1977 he formed the World Ten Band with Biggie Tembo, Jacob Teguru, David Ziome and Franco Kazere.
After moving to Harare, they joined with members of the World Tomorrow Band to form The Sounds Of The Muddy Face (at first known just as Muddy Face). Cephas became leader of the group in later years.
He struggled with the effects of diabetes for many years, including a leg amputation in 2006, and died 23rd August 2011 in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe.
