The Seto folksong choir Sõsarõ (Sisters) was established in 1973. It was formed from the Seto singing-group in accompaniment with the ethnic folklore-group Leegajus and was begun by a Seto woman Veera Virgo.

The group developed into an independent ethnic choir under the leadership of folklorist Vaike Sarv (from 1976 - 1983). The leader from 1985 to 2008 was historian Sulev Mäeväli. Since autumn 2008 the conductor is music teacher Rines Takel.
