Tartovisti started as a new Dave Powell solo, but ended up as the birth of a new musical project. Nigel and Dave had played together in a staff school band in the early 1980's. As Tartovisti they move well away from conventional music, exploring a variety of styles from medieval dirges through to free-form guitar wielding trips.
