Biography

Clay Custer
Pianist, who recorded one title, "The Rocks", for OKeh in 1923.
"It has been widely accepted that this is a pseudonym for the composer of The Rocks, George Thomas [i.e. George W. Thomas, but there seems to be no conclusive evidence for this. It is not the case that 'Custer' was the birth name of George Thomas's mother, as has been stated; her name was Bradley." (Blues and gospel records 1890-1943, Oxford University Press, 1997, p., 191)
