Biography
The Ash
Effective period / Period of releases: 1968
From Los Angeles, CA, this group started out as the Twilighters in the mid-sixties, changed their name to The Ash circa 1967 and started playing the big clubs on the Sunset Strip. After their sole recording, they continued gigging, and got connections to record a full LP in 1970. They had to wait a while for its release for quite a few months into 1971 and prior to it coming out, they opted to change their name to Shotgun Ltd. The LP showed them branching out into other genres like Prog and harder rock and was produced by Dave Hassinger. But unfortunately the LP didn’t sell well and the record company passed on a second LP.
