Yakov Skomorovsky (August 19, 1889, Kherson, Russian Empire - July 4, 1955, Leningrad, USSR) - Leningrad jazzman, trumpeter, conductor, teacher. Since 1929 - musical director of Tea Jazz under Леонид Утесов. In the 1930s-1940s, he headed a concert jazz orchestra, with which he recorded on records and worked on the radio. Исаак Дунаевский worked with Skomorovsky's orchestra, entrusting him with the recording of music for the films "Volga, Volga", "Circus", "Goalkeeper", "Girl in a Hurry to Date".
