H.F.W. (Harry) van Diepenbeek was a performing musician and conductor, born September 2, 1925, died December 11, 2014. Son of Hendricus Willebrordus van Bijnen and Gerritdina Wilhelmina van Diepenbeek.Van Diepenbeek was educated at the Toonkunst-Conservatorium of Rotterdam on clarinet and Conducting band and fanfare; he was also a piano player. At first, he played at the Stafmuziek van het Regiment Stoottroepen but soon he joined the De Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine as a clarinetist. In 1950 he finished his study.
The Inspector of Military Music Walther Boer selected van Diepenbeek in 1950 to be the first Conductor of the new Luchtmachtkapel (later: Kapel Van De Koninklijke Luchtmacht) from 1951 until 1976.
