Classic Petra formed in 2010 with the former 1980's lineup of the Christian rock group Petra (9). Originally, they announced two albums of re-recordings and one album with originals. In the end they only released one album with re-recordings, a DVD with the album release show and a documentary and two versions of a companion CD. Three of the members reunited with another Petra member and a long-time friend to form CPR (5) to record the second album of re-recordings in 2017.
