Novelty act of Gerard Hulshof, Felix Huizinga and Jos Timmer, produced and initiated by Pierre Kartner (Vader Abraham). Their first single (their only hit) was a parody of the theme tune of Dutch puppet TV show "De Fabeltjeskrant", which featured a speaking owl (uil in Dutch) as the lead character. The song title referred to Joop den Uyl, then-secretary of economic affairs in the Netherlands. Hulshof, Timmer and Huizinga were working for Dutch public broadcaster KRO when they recorded as De Uilen (The Owls).
