Marisa Liz

Real name: Marisa Pinto de Oliveira Pinto

Effective period / Period of releases: 2023

Born in Lisbon, October 22nd 1982, Marisa early on dictated her path: "I want to see the world through singing". Her journey began in her artistic career in youth groups – Onda Choc and Popeline – standing out as a finalist on the program "Os Principais" (RTP1), where she was recognized by fellow contestants as the "Principal Amiga" (Main Friend). She made several attempts to succeed in the music world: "Bravo Bravíssimo" and "Cantigas da Rua." At a very young age, she participated in the project "Água d'Amanhã", sang a solo theme (which soon became a duet), and with the group Popeline on "Trapalhões em Portugal" (SIC). She was invited to join the choir of the program "Os Principais" (2nd edition) and later became part of the regular cast of "Domingo é Domingo" (RTP1).

Parallel to the cover band "XLFemme", Marisa formed, in 2003, the band "Donna Maria". With this group, Marisa participated in the album "Various - Tributo A Carlos Paião" and in many music shows, Christmas galas, and the youth program "Uma Canção para Ti." In the latter program, Marisa took the opportunity to convey a message of strength to the younger participants: "I didn't start in a program like this, but I participated in a program like this when I was very young. I've been on that side, and I didn't give up. I never won, I don't even know what place I got, but I never gave up. And now I'm here. Winning or not depends on our ambition."

In 2008, Marisa participated in the 50-year career gala of Simone de Oliveira at Coliseu dos Recreios. Later, she participated in musical projects of some colleagues in the profession (such as Paulo De Carvalho, Rui Veloso, Fernando Tordo, Simone de Oliveira, Júlio Pereira, Katia Guerreiro).

In recent years, Marisa has devoted heart and soul to her project "Amor Electro", which would include Tiago Pais Dias, Ricardo Vasconcelos, and Rui Rechena. The band has won several national and international awards: two Golden Globes, the EBBA (European Border Breakers Awards), three nominations for the MTV awards, among others...

In 2014, Marisa Liz joined the jury of Category 3 (Performing Arts) in the 1st edition of the "Mostra de Autores Desconhecidos," starring in an unforgettable "acapella" moment at the awards ceremony.
