Real name: Sir John Edward Rowles

Effective period / Period of releases: 1966

JA-AR was a pseudonym used by John Rowles, OBE (born 26 March 1947, Whakatane, New Zealand) who is a New Zealand singer. In 1967 he was discovered by Peter Gormley, the man who was behind Cliff Richard. He flew Rowles to the UK, where he reached No. 2 in the charts with his first single "If I Only Had Time", which lead to a long and successful career.
In 2018 he was knighted.
