Johnny Barnes

Real name: John Barnes

English saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist. In 1955, he performed and recorded with traditional jazz band the Zenit Six, then moved to London. He worked fulltime in Alan Elsdons band 1961-1964 and from 1964 to 1978 with Alex Welsh. Joined Humphrey Lyttelton in 1979. Also worked with Janet Jackson, Leo Sayer, Gerry Mulligan, Spike Robinson, Bobby Wellins and Keith Nichols.
Born 15 May 1932 in Manchester, UK - Died on April 18th 2022
