American jazz and pop singer, from Charleston, West Virginia. Brace moved to New York in 1948 and initially sang with the bands of Vincent Lopez (2) and Johnny Long. She became well known as a jazz vocalist in appearances at venues such as the Village Vanguard and the Blue Angel. She married drummer Don MacLean, who played with the Don Elliott Quartet.
