Blas then moved on to study theatre, dance and vocal on Broadway, to polish up his many talents. He uses his Broadway dance experience in helping him choreograph the groups insatiable dance routines.
In 1997, Eddie Perez, producer of Blas' hit single for Smack, approached José and Elder about a merengue concept. Blas and Raúl knew each other from high school and through mutual friends having all lived in Passaic and Paterson NJ. Under the direction of Perez, these four young stars came together and began to develop the idea that became Frase Klave (Prestigio Recordings, 1999)
