Jimmy Hartwell

Real name: James Hartwell

American clarinetist and alto saxophonist, born c. 1900, died after 1942.
Played in Chicago with the Ten Foot Band and Russ Wilkins's Melody Boys c. 1922, then became founding member of The Wolverine Orchestra. Settled in Miami, Florida, in 1925; led own band in Florida in the late 1920s, switched to bass in the 1930s due to asthma.
