Not to be confused with Spider Martin the civil rights photographer. Born August 18, 1931 in Asheville, North Carolina, Died April 21, 2000 in Niagara Falls. Tenor saxophonist, among other achievements was associated with Tony Bennett's indie jazz label Improv Records. Father of drummer Darryl "Pookie" Martin.
