Italo Pizzolante (Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, December 2, 1928 - Valencia, March 12, 2011) was a Venezuelan poet, composer, musician, teacher and engineer of Italian descent. The musical vocation of Italo Pizzolante began at home during family gatherings following the musical inclinations of his father. Probably his best known song is «Motivos» that has been performed by: La Rondalla Venezolana, Los Panchos, Chucho Avellanet, Armando Manzanero, Alfredo Sadel, Vicente Fernández and more recently Luis Miguel. This song was composed on December 1, 1965 to dedicate to his friends at a party.
