The Layabouts

Members: Willy Marckx, Stefan Peeters (2), Leo Peeters, Fons Cooreman, Pierre Van Espen

Belgian band from Lebbeke founded in 1962 by 3 brothers Peeters: Steff Peeters (vocals), Leo Peeters (guitar) and Erik Peeters (drums) and Eddy Du Bois (bass). They did live gigs as "Riff and His Blue Sharks ". Erik was too young and was replaced by drummer Willy Marckx. Together with Pierre Van Espen (rythme gitaar) they formed the Layabouts.

The name "Layabouts" came from Mike Jagger who told in an interview about The Rolling Stones : "we're just a bunch of layabouts".

The played also as backing band for Jimmy Frey.

In 1968 the Layabouts disbanded. In 1988 they took a new start.
