Founded in 1981, Shikisha are four South African women who perform traditional Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa and Shangaan dances, chants and drumming plus exhilarating street dances, and original songs set to township music. Band and other members who occasionally perform with Shikisha are: Julia Mathunjwa, Ruby Serame, Pinise Saul, Pauline Hawthor Lucky Ranku, Joe Legwabe, Shawn Stephenson, Lucky Moyo, Lionel Barnett and Oliver Crooke.
